More aboutSusan Fekkers
In her duties as Office Manager, Susan manages daily operations, handles payroll and accounts payable, supervises an administrative staff and keeps track of HR benefits for employees. She is the social organizer for company events as well as longtime Treasurer of Johnson High School's Touchdown Club.
For Susan, the best parts of her job are the people she works with, the learning experiences and finding solutions to everyday challenges. She cares deeply about Rushton’s exceptional reputation in the community.
A Personal Glimpse
Susan Fekkers probably would not call herself Rushton's cheerleader, though she rallies the staff and encourages everyone's participation when it's time to organize a company social function. But with her reputation as a sports fan, the moniker might just seem appropriate.
The mother of five boys and one girl would not give up high school sports even after all her children graduated and went on to other pursuits. (The boys were football players and wrestlers.) To remain as involved as when her boys participated, Susan volunteered as Treasurer of Johnson High School's football booster club and is still a fan of that school's wrestling team. She’s also a fan of UGA football and the Chicago Bears.
After her children left home, Susan discovered a new love of cooking. She enjoys gardening and travel. Tomatoes, watermelons, corn, strawberries - they're all on her menu when in season. But since there's no official season for travel, anytime she can get away to sightsee, she does, whether it's a special vacation to Idaho with her parents or a visit to California. Most of all, she loves spending time with her 12 grandchildren – and now her first great grandchild.
Susan feels fortunate to have found a home at Rushton within a month of moving from California 15 years ago. She has enjoyed watching Rushton grow from 13 employees to now over 40.
The mother of six, Susan is a big sports fan. In fact, she loves high school sports so much that she still supports her kids' high school teams, even though they've all graduated. She also enjoys gardening and traveling.
Susan organizes Rushton’s annual United Way fund drives.
