Due to continued growth, Rushton is currently seeking a dedicated, proactive CPA with 5-9+ years recent public accounting experience focused on taxation and strong technical knowledge to prepare and review tax returns, consult on tax projects, manage staff, and manage client relationships at our office in Gainesville, GA. You will independently perform tax engagements for businesses and high net worth individuals from commencement to completion, direct the work of staff accountants, make sound decisions on behalf of our clients and provide superior service.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages multiple engagements and personnel by providing support, direction, expertise, and ensure work performed is within established requirements.
- Prepares and reviews complex individual returns; business returns, multiple states, international issues.
- Directly corresponds and communicates with clients
- Ability to do technical research and document to support conclusion.
- Supervises personnel, provides feedback to them, and evaluates their progress
- Resolves complicated tax issues.
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge.
- Manages budgets and billing center.
- Develops new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.
- Assists in staffing and scheduling of engagements as assigned by the partners.
- Stays current on professional reading of tax, accounting and general business communications.
- Active in developing and maintaining technical expertise of firm personnel.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- BA/BS in Accounting
- Masters Degree in Taxation or Accounting strongly preferred
- CPA license
- 5-9+ years of experience with preparing individual and corporate tax returns
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency utilizing accounting technology
- Availability to work overtime during peak periods throughout the year
- Successful completion of a background check
- Valid credentials to work in the U.S.
