Rushton is one of Northeast Georgia’s largest and most respected accounting firms in the region for over 40 years and is seeking an Government Audit Leader professional in our growing Audit Division. We are looking for those who have experience in Government Audit!
The selected individual will be provided an opportunity to help our clients grow their businesses while working with a team of professionals who share in the same goals. Within our fully renovated building, our tax and audit teams are highly trained, educated and closely work with our clients to know their businesses well. Our tax and audit professionals encounter new assignments that provide opportunities to learn, grow and understand how businesses operate from all levels and perspectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates technical ability in audit, accounting, regulatory and compliance
- Handles client relationship and communication.
- Participates in internal training, as appropriate.
- Ability to do technical research and document to support conclusion.
- Handles client matters with department and decision makers.
- Ensures completion of planning with Partner approval prior to field work.
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge.
- Completes all work in a timely and efficient manner.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCED
- BA/BS in Accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related finance degree
- 3-8+ years of experience
- Professional certification preferred (or a commitment to pass the CPA exam)
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
- Knowledge of Governmental Auditing Standards
- Willingness to travel locally up to 40% of time
- Openness to giving and receiving honest feedback
- Ability to manage project timelines and proficiency utilizing accounting technology
- Availability to work overtime during peak periods throughout the year
- Successful completion of a background check
- Valid credentials to work in the U.S
