Managing through Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 18, 2020

Dear Valued Client:

With the uncertainty around the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to reach out to you with our current plan. Our office is currently open during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but we are monitoring daily for changes to our schedule. We want to strongly encourage clients to upload their tax and accounting documents electronically. Please read the information below for further guidance.

Managing through Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At Rushton, the health and safety of our clients, employees and community are of utmost importance. To that end, our staff will continue to follow CDC guidelines on Coronavirus (COVID-19) to help prevent the spread of germs. All staff have the training and capability to work remotely, and the firm is committed to providing support and flexibility to our staff.

Please be assured that we are working to minimize potential risk as we approach the April 15 tax deadline. These are some steps that we have in place to guide you through this challenging time.

Electronic Submission/eSignature

For many years, Rushton has offered electronic options to our clients. Clients can upload their tax information to our client portal from their computer. We are happy to walk clients through the process of setting up and utilizing their accounts. While we are most concerned with employee, client and general public wellbeing and health, we also want to ensure deadlines are met and sensitive information is transmitted in a secure way. The Rushton client portal offers secure upload of documents with sensitive financial and identifying information. Clients are discouraged from sending sensitive information via email. We also have the capability to securely transmit completed tax returns to clients for their review and records via the secure client portal. New this year, clients can even electronically sign their returns through our secure eSignature option.

Other Document Deliver Options

We understand that many clients may not have the capability to scan their documents or use our available technology. For those clients, we want to point out that we have a drop box at the middle entrance of our building. Clients can also call our office from the parking lot at (770) 287-7800, and we will be happy to come out to get documents.

Please know that we are monitoring this situation closely and will continue to communicate with you. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your ongoing confidence and trust in us as we maneuver through these unusual circumstances.
