Rushton is one of Northeast Georgia’s largest and most respected accounting firms in the region for over 40 years and is seeking an Accounting Specialist in our growing Client Accounting Services department.
The selected individual will be provided an opportunity to help our clients grow their businesses while working with a team of professionals who share in the same goals. Our professionals encounter new assignments that provide opportunities to learn, grow and understand how businesses operate from all levels and perspectives.

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional support for our clients.  Using prior experience, training and education, the ideal candidate will demonstrate effective communication and work directly with clients and other Rushton team members to resolve challenges and improve internal and client processes. The Accounting Specialist performs a variety of professional accounting tasks in maintaining accounting records and providing bookkeeping and payroll services for Rushton clients.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist clients in performance of accounts receivable and payable functions
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts; prepare journal entries and cash disbursement records for entry into appropriate systems
  • Assist with payroll processing, preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Prepare sales tax returns
  • Analyze and summarize client information to prepare financial reports
  • Assist Payroll Specialist with processing payroll, preparing federal and state payroll tax deposits, preparing monthly and quarterly tax reporting/filing (941)
  • Prepare W-2s and 1099s

  • Ability to recognize and protect confidential and sensitive information and exercise strict discretion when disseminating or sharing information

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to adjust style for the recipient/client
  • Provide “5 Star Service” to clients and co-workers


REQUIRED EXPERIENCED

  • Experience with Accounting CS preferred but not required
  • QuickBooks experience required (Online and/or Desktop)
  • Bill.com experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to adjust schedule based on peak workload times in the department
  • Advanced MS Suite skills including Word, Excel and Outlook. Comfort and experience with workflow software systems
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience required
