Tonya Tucker, CPA
Tonya came to Rushton as an Associate, quickly moved to Senior Tax Associate and gravitated through her natural skills and proclivities to her present position as Medical Services Director. In that position, she oversees a team providing a comprehensive array of physician/practice needs, including practice management, financial statements, personal financial planning, tax preparation and estate services.
She stays pretty busy serving on the finance committee and board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County, where she enjoys participating in fundraising activities such as the organization’s annual “Rubber Duck Derby.” She likes the fact that the Clubs provide a very positive environment for kids and that “the Board is a very active one,” she says.
A very self-directed person, Tonya knew as a junior in high school that she wanted to be an accountant. When she helped with bookkeeping in her father’s chain of convenience stores, the seeds were sown for earning her degree in Business Administration at University of North Georgia and becoming a CPA in 2007.
A Personal Glimpse
You might be disappointed to learn that our Tonya Tucker is not the famed country music singer. But don’t be. She and the Medical Services staff make complicated tax and estate planning sound like beautiful music for physicians and practices in this area.
Tonya loves tending to and playing with her active one year old, Dalton. She and her husband, Chris, live in Homer, Ga, where he is a business owner and third-generation town councilman. When she can spare the time, Tonya likes to cook, cross-stitch and spend time with friends.
