Today Treasury Secretary Mnuchin stated that he is moving the April 15, 2020 tax filing date to July 15, 2020. Secretary Mnuchin indicated further that all taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest and penalties. From his current announcement it appears that this filing extension only applies to tax returns originally due on April 15th.
