Rushton & Company Gets Special Visitor for Tax Season
Tax season means long hours for the Rushton Team, so it is important to have a little fun during this demanding time of year. During tax season the firm provides weekly “treats” for the staff to make the long hours bearable. We have ice cream and pizza parties, team Pictionary, restaurant gift card giveaways, along with daily snack and fruit trays. Our team got a big surprise when one of the famous Chick-fil-A® cows went office-to-office inviting staff to our conference room for hand-spun Chick-fil-A® milkshakes.

Rushton & Company offers a College Internship Program for students seeking hands-on experience and a better understanding of career opportunities in the field of public accounting. Check our Job Fair schedule above to see if and when we will be at your school.
We offer both a January-to-April and May-to-July internship program, and will coordinate the exact timeframe to match the semester schedule for selected interns. Intern Program Eligibility Requirements:
- A junior or senior college student seeking a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Interning to earn a grade and college credit
- Positive references from accounting faculty
- A history of community or civic service highly recommended
- A grade point average in good standing with your college or university
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
As an intern, you'll receive pay as well as valuable experience working across multiple departments at the firm.
Hands-On Opportunities Include:
- Business Services - Performing data entry functions, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and assistance with payroll tax preparation
- Tax - Performing data entry for individual income tax returns and gain experience working with Quickbooks, Quicken and Adobe
- Audit - Perform audit testing, and participating in discussions of audit processes and procedures
- Special Projects - Assistance in preparing Excel spreadsheet analyses, scanning and indexing tax records, and other projects as necessary

- Billing Specialist
Applicants should have experience doing billing and general administrative duties for 2 years or more. Preferred applicant will have prior experience billing from a CPA or law firm. Applicant must be skilled in Microsoft software products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. College degree is preferred but not required for the right applicant. - Senior Tax Associate
Position requires a BS/BA in Accounting with 3 year minimum of experience (Master's degree in Tax or Accounting preferred); strong communication and relationship building skills; the ability to manage staff and project timelines and proficiency utilizing accounting technology. A background in estate and trust tax and experience in tax planning in the manufacturing, construction and medical industries are preferred but not required. Experience using Ultratax preparation software, Creative Solutions accounting software and Lacerte tax preparation software are a plus.

- Executive Administrative Assistant
Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of recent executive level administrative assistance experience with strong organizational and communication skills. Expert level experience with Outlook Mail, Outlook Calendar, Internet, and mastery of MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as knowledge of Adobe) needed.
