An avid reader, Sally also enjoys trout fishing and camping in the North Georgia mountains.

 Sally Walden-Crowe, CPA

As Senior Tax Manager at Rushton & Company, Sally not only sees to the efficient operation of the Tax Department, including reviewing returns for all tax clients and training staff members, but she also works directly with a number of clients consulting on tax and estate planning matters. Her favorite part of the job is advance planning - whether related to business or retirement decisions or estate planning. She treasures the closeness of the professional relationships she's developed with clients over the years, many of whom have become her friends. In fact, she has worked with some clients since the late seventies, even serving several second-generation clients.

Formerly, Sally and her husband, James, operated their own accounting firm, Walden and Crowe, which they merged with Rushton & Company in 2000. Sally is a graduate of the University of Georgia and a CPA since 1979.

A Personal Glimpse

Beyond assisting clients, Sally is dedicated to helping another group: the members of the First Place 4 Health class she has taught for ten years at her church, Mossy Creek Methodist. That instruction is vitally important because it helps adherents gain control of their weight and improve their health.

To relax from the demands of work and teaching, Sally loves to read, as many as three to four books per week. And when she can combine her reading with a little trout fishing and camping in Georgia's mountains, she is delighted.

After merging with Rushton, Sally continued in the business and James retired. If you want to bring a smile to her face, ask about her son Andrew, who will soon be graduating from Georgia Tech with a master's degree in computer science. What does she look forward to when it's her turn to retire? Continuing in the friendships she has cultivated during more than 30 years as a CPA. And, of course, reading and teaching.
