Clay uses his strong financial background to help the community by serving as Finance Chair on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross.

When he's not playing golf or basketball in his free time, Clay cheers on the Atlanta Braves every chance he gets.

 Clay Pilgrim, CPA, CFE, CFF

Another very busy young star at Rushton & Company is Clay Pilgrim, Audit Manager. In his position, Clay plans, schedules and performs audits, supervising audit associates and performing training as needed. Clay is a CPA and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

As busy as he is, Clay finds time to devote to many civic endeavors. He is Finance Chair on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross, using his strong financial background to help guide the chapter's financial decisions. Not only that, but Clay is an active member of the Gainesville Jaycees, vice president of the Northeast Georgia chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, serves on the College Outreach Task Force for the GSCPA, and has taught as an adjunct professor at North Georgia College & State University, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting.

A Personal Glimpse

Clay’s favorite “auditing” task is keeping tabs on the team statistics of the Atlanta Braves. Of course, the best way to do that is by attending their games – every game he can. “Avid” is not an overstated description of Clay’s status as a Braves fan. And he’s also avid about other sports, as evidenced by the basketball court in his back yard. He uses it frequently, and he plays golf three to four times per month. Unfortunately, not many sports teams have need for trained professional audit teams, or Clay would be heavily involved in recruiting them as Rushton clients.

Born and reared in Cleveland, Ga., Clay lives in north Hall County with his wife Lindsey. He and Lindsey attend the Bridge Church, in Cleveland.
