Anthony volunteers his time and expertise as Treasurer of the Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK).

Coaching his daughter's and son's sports teams or jet-skiing with them on the lake enables Anthony to spend precious time with his family. He also enjoys trout fishing on the upper Chattahoochee.

 Anthony Shope

Heavily involved in his church and community, Anthony honed his personal leadership skills in Leadership Hall's 2009-2010 class. As a graduate of that program, he now applies those skills on the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) for Youth Leadership Hall County as well as with participation in the Hall County United Way Hero Campaign. He is also Treasurer of the Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK), a non-profit agency serving the educational needs of children.

With 20 years of experience in business management and accounting, Anthony was formerly Assistant Controller with one of the largest independent poultry producers in the world, based in Georgia. He worked there for 18 years before joining Rushton & Company in 2007. As the firm's Administrator, he leads all phases of Rushton's administration, personnel, finances and marketing. And when the firm's current office complex was constructed, Anthony was instrumental in its development from building plans through decoration of the completed structure.

A graduate of North Georgia College & State University and a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, Anthony is also a deacon at Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.

A Personal Glimpse

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Anthony Shope can look out his office window and see the site of his birth: Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He and his wife of 20 years, Shelley, have a daughter and a son that keep them very busy. "I love being with my family," says Anthony, "whether at sports events or jet-skiing on Lake Lanier." He also enjoys trout fishing on the upper Chattahoochee when he gets the chance.

Anthony's enjoyment of parenting has led him to coach sports teams on which his daughter and son have played.

An NGCSU graduate, firm administrator Anthony Shope was recently featured in a campaign for North Georgia College & State University. The campaign features distinguished alumni whose leadership skills have made a positive impact on the region, nation and world.
